It’s hard to believe that JustaGirlwithSpots.com is already one year old! One year ago today I posted “Is that contagious?” which has led me on this amazing journey. The overwhelming support from my friends and family, and most importantly, my readers means more than I can express to you all. I treasure each email and still get giddy whenever I get notified that I have a new comment waiting for approval!
The past year has been a real education for me; learning to blog and researching everything I can about psoriasis to share with you (and clearly so I have something to write about :)) Writing and sharing has made me become so much more aware of my internal health & wellness. It helps me stay calm, which I believe goes a long way in soothing my breakouts. I’m excited to say that since I’ve begun writing about my skin, it has become so much better. I encourage you to write and share your psoriasis stories, talking about it really does help.
I’ve also gained some amazing opportunities through JAGWS. Last Friday, I taped an episode with Dr. Oz (he’s soooooo nice!) for a psoriasis segment on his show. My skin, of course has a mind of its own and was actually in pretty great shape the day of taping (even though I had the most stressful week of work ever!). I actually kind of felt like a fraud because it wasn’t that bad, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. It was more pink and dry, rather than red and scaly. But you can see for yourself when it airs. The date is TBD, but I’ll be sure to keep you all updated when I find out. I’ve also had the opportunity to be featured in the Health Monitor Guide to Psoriasis, on the Patients Like Me blog and appear in one of their print ads that ran in Psoriasis Magazine. Just a Girl with Spots was recognized by Healthline.com as one of the top psoriasis blogs of 2012. I couldn’t be more excited by everyone’s support. It encourages me to keep moving forward on this journey and continuing to find ways to make it a better experience.
Now enough about me, what can I do for you? Are there topics you want more information about? Please tell me what you want to read about!
Thank you for your continued support!
